The Disque Foundation Celebrates Its 10th Year Anniversary and the Lives Empowered Through Its Save a Life Initiative
June 20, 2022 Chicago – Since its founding in 2012, the Disque Foundation has set out on a mission to empower individuals, communities, and nations across the globe to save lives through free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) training. Later that year, to assist in fulfilling its mission, the Disque Foundation and National Health Care Provider Solutions (NHCPS) partnered to establish SaveaLife.com, which has quickly become one of the most accessible and widely used medical training and certification sites. Through its Save a Life Initiative (SALI), the Disque Foundation offers the world’s first free life-support training courses entirely accessible online.
The idea behind the SALI is that when the knowledge and skills to perform CPR and other proven life-saving techniques are taught to people all across the world, the power to save lives is within everyone. To achieve this, the Disque Foundation ensures that the same advanced healthcare education developed for healthcare providers is taught to everyone, both at home and abroad. The Initiative permits healthcare professionals to not only receive their individual certifications, but also to directly contribute to providing the same advanced education to underserved areas around the world.
In the last few years, amidst immense worldwide change and a global pandemic, the foundation’s Empowerment Team has continued to work tirelessly so that in a time when advanced healthcare education is needed more than ever, individuals around the world are provided access to life-saving courses and certifications. Because in-person training and certifications became unavailable for healthcare professionals and frontline workers fighting the pandemic, the Disque Foundation saw an exponential increase in the demand for its online courses. The Foundation saw this as an opportunity to join alongside these essential workers and offer their courses for free, ensuring as many people as possible were able to educate themselves.
From 2015 to 2021, the Disque Foundation gave away more than 123 million dollars in free certifications. In 2021 alone, its SALI trainers empowered more than 5,600 lives through 180 events, offered both online and in-person. Also in 2021, the foundation broke its record for the average daily lives empowered, averaging a staggering 2,219 lives a day.
As of April of 2022, ten years after its founding, the Disque Foundation has empowered over 4 million lives in more than 182 countries. Each year the foundation continues to surpass its projected growth and has set an astounding goal to empower 10 million people by 2025. Given its history, this is only the beginning of the Disque Foundation!
