In a powerful collaboration aimed at transforming lives, the Disque Foundation, known for its humanitarian efforts across the globe, embarked on a journey to the Philippines. Partnering with International Care Ministries (ICM), a beacon of hope for the ultra-poor in the Philippines, this initiative made a profound impact for several communities. Alongside Alfie G. Roque, a dedicated trainer from Bravo Zulu First Aid Safety Team (and a  Save a Life Initiative Trainer), the Disque Foundation brought life-saving skills and resources to communities in need. Together, they not only offered essential medical training but also instilled hope and resilience in the hearts of those facing adversity. This partnership underscores a commitment to empowering individuals and communities, ultimately paving the way for brighter futures in the Philippines and beyond.

Be a Lifesaver: Free CPR Training

On their  first day in the Philippines, the Disque Foundation in collaboration with Save a Life Certifications by NHCPS embarked on a journey that would leave a lasting impact on the communities they visited. Upon setting foot in the communities, the foundation wasted no time in getting to work. Their mission? To offer a vital skill that could mean the difference between life and death: CPR training. Led by the capable hands of Alphie, a SALI Trainer, the training session was offered completely free of charge to the eager participants.

In addition to thorough training and demonstrations, the Disque Foundation went above and beyond by donating three CPR mannequins, two for adults and one for infants. This seemingly simple gesture held immense significance for the community members, many of whom lived in areas far removed from immediate medical assistance. In these remote regions, every minute counts in an emergency, and having the knowledge and tools to perform CPR could truly be a lifesaver.

Imagine being an hour away from the nearest hospital, with a loved one in need of urgent medical attention. In such moments of crisis, the ability to administer CPR could make all the difference. That’s why the Disque Foundation’s initiative was met with such enthusiasm and gratitude. Under Alphie’s patient guidance, a total of 200 individuals, spanning various age groups and backgrounds, were empowered with the life-saving skills of CPR.

As the Disque Foundation immersed themselves in these communities and learned about ICM’s holistic approach, they were inspired by the resilience and determination of the families they met.
