The Disque Foundation Rings in its 10th Year Anniversary

The Disque Foundation was founded in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Foundation was created to help empower others to save lives by providing advanced healthcare education and training to underserved populations worldwide with a focus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). To assist in fulfilling its mission, the Disque Foundation and National Health Care Provider Solutions (NHCPS) partnered to establish SaveaLife.com in 2012, which has quickly become one of the most accessible and widely used medical training and certification sites. Through its Save a Life Initiative (SALI), the Disque Foundation offers the world’s first free life-support training courses entirely accessible online.

SALI ensures healthcare professionals can receive certifications in advanced healthcare techniques and can then use their knowledge to teach and provide care to those in need thereby saving countless lives around the world. The initiative works to make healthcare education accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial or educational background. By providing life-saving skills and training to those who might not otherwise have access, SALI helps to ensure that everyone has the power to save lives.

The global pandemic fundamentally changed the way institutions and organizations were able to interact and learn, thankfully through the Empowerment Team’s tireless efforts, the Disque Foundation was able to meet the exponential increase in demand for its online courses. The pandemic was especially hard on people in countries with limited resources, those who were displaced, and those who lack the financial means to pursue advanced education. The team met these challenges by providing round the clock technical service, ensuring the courses are accessible and up-to-date, as well as offering courses for free. The team’s work has helped the Foundation reach a wider audience and has enabled more individuals to gain access to essential healthcare education.

In 2022 alone, its SALI trainers empowered more than 6,345 lives through 236 events, offered both online and in-person. Also in 2022, the foundation broke its record for the average daily lives empowered, averaging a staggering 2,227 lives a day.

As of December of 2022, ten years after its founding, the Disque Foundation has empowered over 4.7 million lives in more than 184 countries. Each year the foundation continues to surpass its projected growth and has set an astounding goal to empower 10 million people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities by 2025. Given these impressive milestones, the future and impact of the Disque Foundation looks bright!
