Dr. Ibrahim has dedicated his life to medicine, education, and empowering others to save lives. His passion for emergency preparedness is deeply personal—shaped by both tragedy and resilience. At just seven years old, he witnessed his four-year-old brother fall unconscious, an event that left a lasting impression. Years later, as a first-year medical student in Egypt, he encountered a 12-year-old boy whose father suffered a cardiac arrest. Lacking CPR knowledge at the time, he was unable to intervene. The experience changed him. Determined never to feel unprepared again, he became an EMT that summer and dedicated his medical career to ensuring others have the skills and confidence to act in life-or-death situations.

Dr. Ibrahim has since trained in Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Interventional Pain Management at prestigious institutions, including Cornell, Columbia, and SUNY. He has held academic appointments in Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, and Critical Care at Harvard Medical School and has been recognized among the nation’s top pain management doctors. But despite his extensive credentials, his motivation remains deeply human: the drive to prevent unnecessary suffering. This mission became even more personal when his brother suffered a 27-minute cardiac arrest, requiring 18 shocks and six cycles of CPR before being revived. Six months after a heart transplant, his brother is now on the road to recovery—a testament to the power of being prepared.

Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Ibrahim is committed to increasing CPR and life-saving training in schools, advocating for it to be a required part of high school education. He has volunteered on medical mission trips to Honduras, Turkey, India, Germany, and England and has also served in correctional medicine, providing care in a uniquely challenging environment.

Dr. Ibrahim’s journey is a powerful reminder that every second counts in an emergency—and that proper training can mean the difference between life and death. The Disque Foundation is honored to have him on the Advisory Board, where his expertise and passion for saving lives will help shape the future of CPR education and global health initiatives.
