SALI Trainers in Action: 10 Million Lives Empowered and Counting

Ten million!

It is a staggering number. Yet, at the Disque Foundation, we know that ten million isn’t just a statistic on a spreadsheet. It represents ten million individual moments where fear was replaced by confidence. It signifies ten million potential second chances, families kept together, and tragedies averted.

Reaching the incredible milestone of 10 Million Lives Empowered is a testament to the global hunger for life-saving knowledge. But this mission isn’t achieved from behind a desk. It is achieved in school auditoriums, busy corporate offices, and community centers around the world. It is achieved through the tireless dedication of our on-the-ground partners: our SALI Trainers.

The Save a Life Initiative (SALI) was founded on the belief that everyone should have the skills to respond in an emergency. Our SALI Trainers are the embodiment of that belief in action. They are the hands, voices, and hearts of our mission globally. Today, we want to shine a spotlight on just a few recent events hosted by our incredible partners that helped push us past this monumental milestone.

Mentoring the Mentors in the Philippines

SALI Trainer RlinkThere is profound power in training an educator. When you give a teacher life-saving skills, you aren’t just empowering one person; you are planting a seed that will grow through every student they teach.

Recently, RLink Training Services, a passionate SALI Partner in the Philippines, demonstrated this beautiful ripple effect. They held a dynamic First Aid seminar at Siena College in Taytay, equipping 208 participants with essential skills.

What made this event truly special was the audience. Many participants were teachers entrusted with guiding and mentoring the next generation of nurses. By strengthening their own First Aid knowledge, these educators can now model accuracy, readiness, and calm under pressure to future healthcare professionals. As RLink Training Services perfectly stated: “Every skilled teacher creates stronger students. Every stronger student creates a safer future.” This is how sustainable change happens.

From High-Rises to Safe Havens: Securing Workplaces in Manila

SALI Trainer Bravo ZuluIn the hustle of bustling business hubs, emergency preparedness can sometimes take a backseat to daily deadlines. However, our SALI Trainers know that a prepared workplace is a resilient workplace.

Our amazing partner, Bravo Zulu Ph, has been on a mission to transform offices in the Philippines into safer environments. Last month, they organized vital First Aid seminars in two of the country’s busiest hubs: Makati City and Taguig City.

Across these events, they empowered 100 individuals—60 in Makati and 40 in Taguig—with the skills to respond when it matters most. These trainings are crucial. When employees know how to react during a medical crisis, they stop being helpless bystanders and become immediate protectors of their colleagues. Bravo Zulu Ph is proving that corporate responsibility includes ensuring everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

Gratitude and Youth Empowerment in Colombia

Sali TRainer Atusalud IntegralThe drive to save lives transcends borders and generations. In Ibagué–Tolima, Colombia, our partner Fundación Atusalud Integral recently highlighted how the next generation is stepping up to the challenge.

In a powerful month of empowerment, they held a seminar that trained 116 youth in essential life-saving skills. Watching young people take ownership of the safety of their communities is perhaps the most inspiring aspect of the Save a Life Initiative. These young people are now beacons of preparedness in their neighborhoods.

Reflecting on this event during a season of gratitude, we are profoundly thankful for partners like Atusalud Integral. Their commitment ensures that our mission reaches every corner of the globe, fostering a culture of preparedness among the leaders of tomorrow.

Toward the Next Million

From teachers in Taytay to corporate staff in Manila and youth in Colombia, these events paint a vivid picture of how we reached 10 million lives empowered. It happened one training, one seminar, and one dedicated volunteer at a time.

We celebrate RLink Training Services, Bravo Zulu Ph, and Fundación Atusalud Integral. They are proof that our SALI Trainers are more than just instructors; they are community builders and guardians of the future.

As we celebrate this milestone, we do not rest. The need for life-saving education remains vast. But with the passion of our global network of trainers, we look forward with hope and determination toward empowering the next million.
